Step 2: The dashboard data

1. Open this spreadsheet

2. Notice that there are three tabs. The first tab is a query pulling all of the units. The second tab is a query pulling all of the assets that are homes. The third tab combines both of those tabs to create one final list of inventory with all the fields that we will need for our dashboard.

3. Make a copy of the spreadsheet (File -> Make a copy)

4. Rename the new spreadsheet to "Inventory"

5. Star the new spreadsheet

6. In the new spreadsheet, click on Extensions -> Visata for Rent Manager -> Open sidebar (not seeing this option?)

7. Create a new query

   • Name: "Units"

   • Entity: Units

   • Sheet: Units

   • Headers: Default

   • Refresh: Daily, 2 AM to 3 AM

   • Columns:

     • Open the Units sheet and notice the orange columns. Now add exactly the same columns in the sidebar.

8. Click Save

9. Click Run query

10. Exit out of the saved query by clicking the back button

11. Click the plus button to create a new query

    • Name: "Homes (Assets)"

    • Entity: Assets

    • Sheet: Homes (Assets)

    • Headers: Default

    • Refresh: Daily, 2 AM to 3 AM

    • Columns:

      • Open the Homes (Assets) sheet and notice the orange columns. Now add exactly the same columns in the sidebar.

      • Add an additional column, "Asset Type ~> Is Home" then hover over it to click the filter button. Filter it to be equal to true. Save the filter then click the hide column button to hide the column.

      • Add one more column, "Is Active" then hover over it to click the filter button. Filter it to be equal to true. Save the filter then click the hide column button to hide the column.

12. Click Save

13. Click Run query

Save as data sources

• Open this link

• Click the copy button:

• Click Copy Data Source

• Close the tab with the template data source you copied

• Click STARRED

• Choose the spreadsheet we just created ("Inventory")

• Choose the "Inventory" worksheet

• Leave the options as is

• Click Reconnect

• Click Apply

• In the top left corner, rename the data source from "Copy of Inventory [TEMPLATE]" to "Inventory"
