Check out the new Visata AI!
NOTE: You must have at least a Google Workspace Business Standard license to use Visata AI. See this page for the full list of supported plans. If your team uses Microsoft Teams instead of Google Workspace, contact support@visata.app and we will get you setup on a Google Workspace license for just $14/mon.
Go to admin.google.com -> Generative AI -> Gemini in Workspace -> Beta Gemini features -> then switch Beta features from Off to On
Click this link
Type "Hello" into the chat box and press send
Go to script.google.com
Click on ➕ New project
Click on the ✦ button in the top right
Click on the ☰ button
Scroll down to the Gems section and click on Visata
Ask Visata to build anything! Forms, dashboards, automations, trackers, integrations with other systems, anything!
Whenever the AI makes changes to the code, it will ask you to either Reject all of its changes or Accept all
Click on Accept all
Then click the 💾 Save button right next to the ► Run button
If you used Visata AI to build a scheduled automation (i.e. a daily expense budget check, etc), then you will not need to deploy anything
However, if you built some kind of web page, such as a dashboard or a form, or anything that needs a URL to be used, you will have to deploy it
It's super easy! If this is your first time deploying this project, click on the Deploy button in the top right and then New deployment. If you are familiar with the deployment settings and want to tweak them, go ahead, otherwise just leave it as is and click Deploy
Click on the Web app URL link to view what Visata AI built for you! (the link ends in "/exec")
If you ever want to make any changes to what you've built, you can simply type out any follow-up prompts into the AI side panel (if you closed the panel, you can access your previous chats by going to ✦ and then ☰)
If there are ever error messages, you can simply copy the error and paste it into the chat so the AI can fix it for you!
And again, whenever the AI makes changes to the code, you will need to click Accept all and then the 💾 Save right next to the ► Run button
If you make changes and then refresh the web app URL link from when you deployed, you'll notice it does not have the changes that you made! That's because you have to redeploy. However, you should only redeploy once you have a final working version because your build may already be shared with your team and actively used!
To test changes without redeploying, click on Deploy -> Test deployments and then click the link
Every time you ask Visata AI to make changes, you can accept the changes, click Save, and then reload the test deployment link (the link ends in "/dev")
Do not share the "/dev" link with your team. This link is only for testing
Once you're ready to share the new version with your team, you will need to redeploy
Click on Deploy -> Manage deployments (never choose New deployment, as this will create a new link and you will have to resend a new link to your team every time you make changes!)
Click the ✎ pencil button
Click on the version dropdown and choose New version
Scroll down to where it says Who has access and choose who you want to be able to access what you've built (don't worry, this does not add them as editors to your script project; it simply allows them to access the page that you deployed)
NOTE: Do not change Execuse as. It should always say Me (youremail@domain.com)
Click Deploy
That's it! You can copy the link again, though it's the same link from when you originally deployed
You can send the "/exec" link directly to your team, although we recommend putting the link on one central portal website with any other pages you build using Visata AI, that way you can share one website link with your whole team and it will have any new tools or dashboards that you add to it in the future
We highly recommend using Google Sites, though if you use a different service already, you can embed these Visata AI projects anywhere
To setup on Google Sites:
Go to sites.google.com
Click on the Portal template or choose ➕ Blank site if you don't want to use a template
Go to Pages -> Hover over the ➕ button -> Full page embed
Title your page
Click Add embed
Paste your "/exec" deployed link
Click Insert
Then publish your site and share it with the team!
